1b. Demonstrating knowledge of students
There are a variety of ways that I gain knowledge of my students. I create student surveys and student feedback forms. Also, I design lessons that allow students to freely share their passions, interests, and dreams. On a personal level, I will plan a time during the instructional class period to talk with my students. I'll ask them about, "what they did over the weekend," "What sports they're involved in," or "what their favorite thing they liked most about...x,y,z." All of this combined allows me the knowledge to design and plan projects that interest my students and keeping them engaged. As I continue to age, it becomes vital that I stay connected with my students' and eliminate the possible 'generational gap" disconnect that comes with an ever changing culture and technology advances at a super fast pace.
The following documents are what I use to gain more knowledge of my students.

To gain knowledge of my students, I design lessons and projects that will allow students the freedom and creativity to share their feelings, thoughts, and dreams. Below are two examples of students' works that showcase "things about them" through visual imagery.
